Where Legends Are Made
Real adventures. Real Cambodia. Real impact.
Our Story
Kampoul Adventure started in 2018 when Sok, a local Siem Reap guide, got tired of watching tourists get herded through temples like cattle. Watching tour groups of 50+ people shuffling past ancient wonders with barely a moment to breathe made him realize something had to change.
Armed with a beat-up minivan, two years of savings, and an unwavering belief that travel should be about connection—not consumption—Sok started small. Just him, a handful of friends as guides, and a promise: show people the Cambodia we grew up in, not the one packaged for tourists.
We made mistakes. Lots of them. But we learned. We listened. We refined. And slowly, word spread. Travelers started choosing us over the big companies because we weren’t trying to squeeze them for every dollar. We were trying to share something real.
Today, Kampoul Adventure runs 15+ tours with a team of passionate local guides who actually love what they do. We’re still small by industry standards—and that’s exactly how we want it. We’d rather stay authentic than scale into just another tourist machine.
Every tour we run puts money directly into local pockets. Every restaurant we visit is family-owned. Every guide has stories passed down through generations. This isn’t just a job to us—it’s our home, and we’re honored to share it with you

- Vision
With over 20 years of experience operating out of Siem Reap, next to Angkor Wat and other important archeological remains of the ancient Khmer empires, Kampoul Heritage Tours can offer you a wide range of fascinating tours including one-day tours from Siem Reap as well as multi destinations tours all over Cambodia.
Our main emphasis is on in-depth cultural tours often accompanied by professional archaeologist. In this way we strive to offer visitors the best possible experience of the cultural realities, both historical and contemporary, that are characteristics of Cambodia.
Our tours are innovative. We always try to develop new itineraries that are exclusive to our agency in order to explore avenues that have often been neglected by others. The Ancient Road tour is a good example of this approach. The common focus of most tour operators on Angkor Wat is valuable but it bypasses the fact that Angkor itself was the capital of a vast empire where a sophisticated network of roads, bridges and various monuments linked the capital to its far-flung outposts. The remains of these ancient roads can be visited thus providing another perspective to better appreciate the role of Angkor in ancient times.
“In the footsteps of Marguerite Duras” is another innovative tour offering a rare opportunity to visit the sites, in both Vietnam and Cambodia, where the famous French author lived and got inspiration for her most important early works (“The Lover” and “The Sea Wall”).
A number of our tours will take you out of the beaten tracks. Actually, we like to include in our cultural, Tours a part of adventure which can take many forms: trekking, traditional oxcart riding… These can be arranged upon request.
You can count on our team of professionals to guide you and help you make your stay in Cambodia “a once in a lifetime experience”

- Mission
Many of our tours take visitors to communities who sometimes contribute to the implementation of the tours themselves, for instance by clearing bushes around the sites visited or providing explanations about their way of life. We, at Kampoul Heritage Tours, reckon that these contributions should always be compensated in one way or another. We support the idea that communities get involved in tourism activities at the local level provided that a fair return, decided by community members themselves, is offered to them.
In the near future, we also aim at providing local associations doing social work in poor communities and the Angkor Hospital for Children with 2% of Kampoul Heritage Tours benefits.
Meet Our Team
The passionate locals who make every adventure unforgettable
Phav Proeun
Founder and Director
Meet Phav Proeun The Guy Who Started It All Born and raised in Siem Reap, Proeun grew up watching tourists flock to the same five spots while the most incredible parts of Cambodia stayed hidden. He decided to do something about it. That's how Kampoul Adventure started, one local who actually knows where the magic happens, bringing travelers to places that aren't on Google Maps yet. No tourist traps, no fake smiles, no following crowds. Just real Cambodia, the way it's supposed to be experienced. These days, Proeun's building something different, a tour company that actually respects both travelers AND the local communities. Think of him as your friend who knows all the secret spots, except he's made it his life mission to share them with the world.
Sokchheng Thoeun
Finance Manager
Sokchheng Thoeun - Finance Manager While everyone's out chasing sunsets and temple adventures, Sokchheng's the one making sure it all actually works. Payments, budgets, bookings, invoices - the stuff that sounds boring until you realize nothing happens without it. She's the reason your tour gets confirmed, guides get paid on time, and Kampoul Adventure keeps running smooth. Think of her as the team's backbone - quietly essential, zero drama, always on point. Low-key the most organized person you'll ever meet. High-key the reason this company functions.
Veasna
Tour Operator
Veasna - Tour OperatorThe guy who turns plans into actual experiences. While you're enjoying your adventure, Veasna's already three steps ahead - coordinating transport, checking weather, making sure everything flows. He's the one who knows which temple hits different at sunrise, which local spot serves the best food, and exactly how to avoid the crowds. Tour operator by title, logistics wizard by nature. If something goes sideways, he's already fixing it before you even notice. That's just how he operates.
Ty Beeya
English Speaking Tour Guide
Ty's been showing people around Cambodia since 2016, and he's basically a walking Wikipedia mixed with a comedy show. He'll tell you which temple has the best sunrise (spoiler: not where everyone goes), where locals actually eat lunch, and why that random statue is way cooler than it looks. His English is so good, tourists forget he's Cambodian. He's patient with questions, knows when you need a bathroom break before you do, and has this weird talent for making history actually interesting. Parents love him. Kids think he's hilarious. Groups always ask for him specifically. If Cambodia had a "coolest guide" award, Ty would have a whole shelf of them.
What We Stand For
These aren’t just words on a website. They’re the principles that guide every decision we make.
Small Groups
We cap our tours at 15 people because mass tourism sucks. You deserve a conversation, not a megaphone.
Eco-Conscious
Zero plastic bottles. Support local communities. Leave places better than we found them.
Local First
Every guide grew up in Cambodia. Every restaurant is family-owned. Your money stays in the community.
Authentic Experiences
No tourist traps. No photo ops. Just real Cambodia, unfiltered and unforgettable.
Honest Communication
Clear pricing, no hidden fees, no upselling. We say what we mean and deliver what we promise.
Quality Over Quantity
We'd rather run one perfect tour than ten mediocre ones. Excellence isn't negotiable.
